SU1: The River Avon from Bradford-on-Avon to Bath

£6.00

Cost: £6 ( train or bus ticket home needed)

Date: Sunday 7th September

Start Time: 09.00

Distance:13 miles

Duration: 7 hours

Difficulty: Demanding

Places: 15

Start Point: Explore BoA, Westbury Gardens BA15 1DE

Leader: Danny O’Callaghan

Description A rare opportunity to walk from Bradford-on-Avon to Bath, via Freshford, Dundas, Conkwell, Bathford, Bathampton and Kensington Gardens, all the way following the course of the river. We will pass through a variety of landscapes, giving us an opportunity to appreciate the geomorphology and geology of the Avon valley.  The walk ends at Bath railway station.

Grading: Demanding - an all-day walk that is longer and faster paced, requiring greater stamina; possibly some steeper gradients. We would expect participants to be able to keep up with the pace set by the leader; please note it is a walk rather than an amble!
