Monthly Guided Walks
ON ALL OUR WALKS PLEASE CARRY AN EASILY ACCESSIBLE CARD CONTAINING YOUR NAME & EMERGENCY CONTACT DETAILS
Our monthly walks are open to everyone and are normally between 5 and about 7 miles long. You don’t need to register with us, there’s no charge and there’s no need to book. Just come along and join in, you’ll be most welcome. Please wear clothing appropriate for the weather and robust footwear; the terrain can be grassy, muddy, stony or tarmac. There may be stiles to negotiate and usually at least one hill to climb.
We walk on the second Sunday and last Tuesday of each month. Please arrive around 9.25 a.m. ready to leave at 9.30; we’re usually back by lunchtime, 12.30 / 1.00 ish. You may wish to bring a drink and snack for a short refreshment stop en route.
Occasionally we have a longer walk of 10+ miles or a walk where we go further afield, by minibus or train.
We meet outside Explore BoA (Tourist Information) which is in Westbury House Gardens next to the Town Bridge, BA15 1DE.

UPCOMING WALK

CONTAINING YOUR NAME & EMERGENCY CONTACT DETAILS
Tuesday 25th March, Richard Craft, 7 miles, about 5 hours - booking essential, see below.
Meet as usual outside Tourist Information; the minibus ride to the start (& back!) will take about 30 minutes each way.
We'll be venturing into Somerset for a challenging, undulating and exhilarating, circular walk starting in the village of Faulkland. We'll enjoy some fantastic views in a fairly remote landscape (on our recce we saw a group of red kites and a couple of hares!).
This will be a tough walk which is likely to be muddy in several places as over half the walk is across fields, so we strongly recommend bringing walking poles. There are half a dozen stiles and a few short, sharp ascents with around 840 feet of climbing altogether. On our recce we encountered a few cows and horses which were no problem at all.
You may wish to bring an extra snack as we won't be back in BoA until mid afternoon.
If you wish to take part please book your place here; we're limited to 15 places.
N.B. If you come by car and use a pay and display car park, please always buy some extra time as walks are sometimes delayed by unforeseen circumstances.
