Start Point: Explore BoA, Westbury Gardens BA15 1DE.
The minibus will pick you up from here.
Leader: Peter Bird (Volunteer Cotswold Warden)
Description: This is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a beautiful slice of countryside that is off the beaten track. A flat, linear walk through the water meadows of the River Avon starting at Lacock after a minibus drop off, the route goes South to Melksham, then to the Pack Horse Bridge at Whaddon and Staverton. The Kennet and Avon Canal is used to rejoin the River Avon into Bradford-on-Avon.
Grading: Demanding - an all-day walk that is longer and faster paced, requiring greater stamina; possibly some steeper gradients. We would expect participants to be able to keep up with the pace set by the leader; please note it is a walk rather than an amble!
