Sunday 14th December monthly walk

Leaving promptly at 09.30 from outside Tourist Information in the centre of town.

Leader: Peter Bird, 7 miles, just over 3 hours

We’ll start the walk going West along Belcombe Road and up to Turleigh. Passing through Turleigh we’ll drop down Green Lane to Elbow Cottage joining the canal towpath as far as Limpley Stoke, at the bottom of Winsley Hill.

We’ll then follow the road up Crowe Hill in Lower Stoke to the railway under-bridge. We then cross fields to Freshford Station, going through Freshford to follow alongside the River Frome to where it joins the River Avon.

The return will be alongside the Avon to Avoncliff and finally on the canal towpath back to the start.
