Part 1 of the BoA Wheel Challenge leaves BoA along the Kennet & Avon Canal on Spoke 6 of the Walking Wheel for just over a mile to Avoncliff.  From there we climb up to Winsley, back down into the Avon Valley then on to Limpley Stoke.  Another climb, much tougher this time, goes to Upper Limpley Stoke then on to Monkton Combe and Dundas Aqueduct. Climbing again, we go up through woods to Conkwell then on to Monkton Farleigh through more woods.

The return to BoA is along Spoke 8, mainly on fields then joining the Macmillan Way back to the start.

There are great views at various points on the way, super scenery and a few historic buildings that we pass by.  As well as the three climbs, there are several stiles to negotiate otherwise the going underfoot is fairly straightforward.

Please bring a picnic lunch and drinks.
