Leader: Alison Raisey

Alison is an ecology officer with Wiltshire Council who has led this walk on every one of our Walking Festivals to date. We will only be walking about a mile and a half alongside the K&A Canal and River Avon. Much of the time will be spent looking and listening and the bat detectors will help us to identify each species of bat we come across; in past years we have identified seven different species.  Much of the walk is after dark so it would be helpful to bring a small torch; it would also be wise to wrap up warm as it will be chilly near the water at this time of year.

U16s to be accompanied by a responsible adult.

This will be Alison’s 7th Festival for us and her walks are always sold out, so you really do need to book early to avoid being disappointed.

A contribution of the booking cost will be donated to the Bat Conservation Trust.
